| For Chinese speakers, learning English is only a small part of what is needed to get the job or the deal done. Apart from a multitude of cultural differences, the sound of your voice can either 'get' or 'lose' the deal. That sound consists of basic pronunciation, tone, articulation and a multitude of other factors related to overall communication. Then, at the same time, there is what you are actually saying! These skills are never taught at Asian Universities, except for some high ranking Diplomatic and Broadcast Schools. Well, if you're ready to make the change, you found the right place... How I Began
and What I Do |
Taking a break from media/radio, I started teaching English in 2006. I quickly progressed from teaching children, University entrants, PhD students to businesspeople. I no longer 'teach'; instead I 'train' and 'consult' in areas of advanced oral development and interview training. For a person working in Asia with a solid background in communication and voice work, I find this the most satisfying mix of complimentary skills. By mid 2010, I had formulated a way to combine my two career paths, under one banner -

Just read the case studies (at right) to learn how Talk-To-Me can assist you. Despite the fact that these are very high profile clients, they are really just people who were referred by normal people like you! The majority of my clients are businesspeople who want to change careers and need help with both oral skills and interview preparation. The latter of these often happens in the form of teleconferences and personal meetings, where a high level of intercultural communication skills are required, especially the ability to express English in a convincing, authoritative or friendly manner. |
